We the People: A Celebration in Crochet

As part of Boston’s “We the People” celebration and events commemorating America’s 250th anniversary, a spectacular 150-foot red, white, and blue crochet banner was on display along Dry Dock 2 in the Charlestown Navy Yard from June through September 2026.

Created by artist Guimar Dos Santos, this magnificent work of visual art celebrates creativity, community, and the spirit of America. Dos Santos crocheted every day from March through mid-June 2026, meticulously bringing the expansive banner to life one stitch at a time.
